Materials from Seattle Symposium Now Available

Materials from the day-long symposium--Civil Legal Representation and Access to Justice:  Breaking Point or Opportunity for Change--are now available. The Symposium was sponsored by the Fred T. Korematsu Center for Law and Equality at Seattle University School of Law, University of Washington School of Law, and Gonzaga University School of Law.

It was held on Feb. 19, 2010. Panels addressed Why a Right to Representation:  Laying the Foundation, Addressing the Unmet Need:  How and Whereto, Special Populations and Proceedings and Access to Justice:  Representation to Overcome Special Access Barriers, and Modeling Justice:  Achieving Justice Through Standards Lessons Learned from the U.S. Indigent Defense Experience and Civil Representation Internationally.
