Policy brief makes case for universal representation in immigration

The Vera Institute has released a policy brief arguing for a federal universal representation program for immigrants.  Among other things, it notes that 77% of those in immigration court in 2019 didn’t have counsel, but that those with counsel are 3.5x more likely to be granted bond and 10x more likely to be able to remain in the United States.
