Sen. Harris files federal right to counsel bill

Sen. Kamala Harris has filed a comprehensive housing bill that would, among other things, provide $500 million in federal funding to states/cities to expand tenant representation, and guarantee counsel for tenants facing eviction in violation of the CARES Act.  Politico covered the release of the bill. 

This bill joins a number of other federal bills that would provide federal funding for cities/states that enact a right to counsel.
