Legislation (dead): extended foster care

05/24/2017, Legislation, Abuse/Neglect/Dependency - Children

HB 5807 and SB 669 would have provided for voluntary extension of services for children in foster care from ages 18-21, and require appointed counsel for the child in proceedings to set up such care.  Both bills died in the House Finance Committee, although SB 669 did pass the Senate first.
