Former NY Chief Judge calls for constitutional convention on civil right to counsel

Former New York Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman has called for a constitutional convention in New York to "embed into the state constitution a civil right to counsel.”  New York has the opportunity for a constitutional convention every 20 years, and the possibility of such a convention will be on the ballot next year.  The Times Union and New York Law Journal have more.
